The three Banditos, Dave Borszich, Kelly O'Rourke, and Marit Anderson (leader) had a golden autumn day to hike one of their favorite hikes, the Three Ridges- Mau Har Loop. Clocking in at a little over 7 hours, 13.72 miles, 3,994 ft ascent, full waterfalls at Harpers Creek and Campbell Creek, clear views from Hanging Rock and other ridges, and incredible warm fall weather made this day one to remember. We stopped for photos at Chimney Rock and had lunch and pumpkin cookies at Harpers Creek Shelter. The day ended with beer and nachos at Devils Backbone Brewery. Here's to hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
It was 33 degrees when we started. Brrrr! |
